What this error means

You declared the business as publicly traded (or otherwise mistyped the entity), and the stock/entity details couldn't be verified.

Causes, most likely first

  1. A non-public business registered as public when it's actually private, non-profit, or government, the common case.
  2. stock_ticker / stock_exchange couldn't be verified against the submitted legal name.
  3. stock_exchange isn't a recognised/supported code.
  4. Legal business name doesn't exactly match official records, preventing verification of public-company details.

How to fix it

If your numbers are managed by a platform

If your numbers sit inside a reseller platform, for example LeadConnector numbers inside GoHighLevel, you do not have access to the Twilio Console, and the interface shows the rejection without the code. Ask that platform's support team for the Twilio rejection error code, in writing, before you change anything. The substance of the fix is yours to make: the business details, the website, and the opt-in flow described in the Twilio path all belong to you, not to the platform. Make those changes first, confirm they are live, then ask support to resubmit. A resubmission filed before the underlying facts change will fail again on the same reason.

If you own the Twilio account

If not publicly traded, set company_type correctly and remove stock_ticker and stock_exchange. Twilio requires those omitted for any non-public type. If publicly traded, make ticker and exchange match the exact legal name and public records, using a supported exchange code. Confirm business_name matches official registration records, then resubmit via Console or the BrandRegistration resource.
