What this error means
The business registration number fields are missing or don't validate against your business record.
Causes, most likely first
businessRegistrationNumber,businessRegistrationAuthorityorbusinessRegistrationCountrynot supplied for a business type other thanSOLE_PROPRIETOR, these are required for all other types.- Legal business name doesn't exactly match the name tied to the registration number in official records (US: IRS CP 575 or 147C).
- Registration number invalid for the selected authority or region, e.g. an EIN that isn't a valid 9-digit number.
How to fix it
If your numbers are managed by a platform
If your numbers sit inside a reseller platform, for example LeadConnector numbers inside GoHighLevel, you do not have access to the Twilio Console, and the interface shows the rejection without the code. Ask that platform's support team for the Twilio rejection error code, in writing, before you change anything. The substance of the fix is yours to make: the business details, the website, and the opt-in flow described in the Twilio path all belong to you, not to the platform. Make those changes first, confirm they are live, then ask support to resubmit. A resubmission filed before the underlying facts change will fail again on the same reason.
If you own the Twilio account
If the rejected TFV is eligible for resubmission, Twilio's documented path is to edit the request, remove Business Registration Number, Business Registration Authority, Business Registration Country and Business Type, then resubmit. If instead you're correcting the BRN data, enter the exact legal business name as it appears in official records, no abbreviations, no punctuation changes, no substituting a DBA. Verify number, authority and country against official documents; US businesses need a valid 9-digit EIN.
Timing and resubmission
Correctable if eligible, seven-day priority window. The strip-the-fields route avoids a validation loop when the client's records genuinely don't match.
