What this error means
Stock alerts, trading, or investing platform traffic, not eligible for promotional or alerting toll-free use.
Causes, most likely first
- Submission identified stock alerts, trading, investing or similar high-risk financial services.
- Business appears to operate primarily in stocks, investing or crypto.
- Use case summary, samples, website or opt-in suggested stock-alert messaging rather than an eligible 2FA/transactional use case.
How to fix it
If your numbers are managed by a platform
If your numbers sit inside a reseller platform, for example LeadConnector numbers inside GoHighLevel, you do not have access to the Twilio Console, and the interface shows the rejection without the code. Ask that platform's support team for the Twilio rejection error code, in writing, before you change anything. The substance of the fix is yours to make: the business details, the website, and the opt-in flow described in the Twilio path all belong to you, not to the platform. Make those changes first, confirm they are live, then ask support to resubmit. A resubmission filed before the underlying facts change will fail again on the same reason.
If you own the Twilio account
If misclassified, contact Support with an explanation of the actual use case and opt-in. If the business genuinely is a stock/investing platform, limit toll-free messaging to 2FA or transactional traffic only and rewrite the use case summary, samples and website details to reflect that. Correct from the number's Regulatory Information tab within the allowed window; if ineligible, file a new verification.
Timing and resubmission
Correctable where a legitimate transactional use case exists; resubmit within the window. Category rejections are not.
